Our Heritage and background started in 1899, in a small community known then as Klondike, Tennessee by my Great-Grandfather J.O. Henard and then later my Grandfather A.E. Henard opened a General Store and Post Office in Klondike. During the Depression and in the late 1930’s, A.E. Henard moved the operation to a nearby town called Rogersville. The second oldest town in Tennessee.
The operation at those facilities (Henard Lumber Company) are still being operated by family members today. In 1950, he expanded to what was known then as A.E. Henard Home Supply, and operated it until his death in 1965. It was at that time that my father, Otis Henard, purchased the business and changed the name to Otis’ Home Center. After the passing of my father, my mother Dorothy Henard, continued the “Family Tradition” in the Retail Furniture. Appliance and Bedding business in our small community of approx. 5,000 people, in historic Rogersville, Tennessee. I (Philip Henard) have worked in the business for 40 years and manage the day to day operations of Otis Home Center.
